If you are serious about your bike training, or looking for a better time in your next race, training with power is a great way to go…Cian Keogh takes a look at the Garmin Vector 2s.
We take a look…
The Garmin Vector 2s is a reasonably priced entry into the power meter market. With a recent price drop it is even more affordable and still battles with other high end power meters way above its price point. The meter is pedal based and attaches as a pod to the left sided pedal included from the set.
Easy to Install
The installation process is simple, taking only a few minutes longer than putting on normal pedals, and set up on your ant+ device is quick and easy with on screen instructions popping up.
This power meter is designed for those who like to switch between a few bikes, but it is completely suitable to use with one bike on a permanent basis.
Better Power Accuracy
Stages power meters come in at a similar price point, measuring power from the left side also, but what Stages don’t have is an optional upgrade to dual sided power with an extra cost. What this allows for with Garmin is better power accuracy, special features such as cleat alignment to prevent injury, pedaling efficiency and power balance. While these features might have no meaning to you now, once you have dived into the world of training with power you will be looking for every last performance gain which no set of wheels or bike could match in terms of improvement.
Great Price Point with Potential Upgrade-ability
If you are looking to get serious with training and racing or looking to get your fastest time in a triathlon, training with power is the way to do it. I found the Garmin Vector 2s to be excellent for first time power meter owners and with its potential upgrade-ability it is way ahead of others at its price. Pop in store to find out more.
